Tell us about your career path since graduating from Point Park University.

My career path has taken me to a lot of interesting and fun places. After graduating from Point Park University, I decided to pursue a Master’s in Media Production from Central Michigan University. My career path then led me to the following opportunities:

"I believe I landed my current job because of my education and experiences in the field. I also made sure to have a clean and concise resume as well as a solid demo reel."

How did you land your job with the Detroit Pistons and what are your key responsibilities?

I believe I landed my current job because of my education and experiences in the field. I also made sure to have a clean and concise resume as well as a solid demo reel.

My key responsibilities vary. I do a lot of writing, shooting, and editing pieces for various outlets including broadcast, web, social, and in-arena use. I also help produce the live in-arena video board show for all home games.

In what ways did your Point Park experience prepare you for your career?

My Point Park experience prepared me for my career by allowing me to get hands-on experience with equipment from the very start. Although you can learn a lot about production from classes and research, there is nothing more valuable than actually getting out there and shooting or sitting down in an edit room cutting a piece.

What advice do you have for someone considering Point Park?

If you are interested in studying video production, I don’t think you can make a better choice for your future than to enroll at Point Park. Their facilities are second-to-none and being right in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh will grant you so many opportunities for internships

Final thoughts?

If I learned anything throughout my career thus far, it’s don’t be afraid to take some chances with your career. Be willing to move and be ready to put in a lot of work to prove yourself. But more than anything, find a job that is fun for you and makes you happy. Happiness is everything!
