Point Park men's golf places third at CMU Fall Invite at Longue Vue

VERONA, Pa. -- Point Park University men's golf placed third at the Carnegie Mellon University Fall Invite held Wednesday at The Longue Vue Club.
The Pioneers shot a team score of 306, which was four shots back of second-place Grove City College (302) and also behind first-place and host Carnegie Mellon (295). There were a total of six teams in competition.
Sophomore Gage Basiletti had a strong showing for the Pioneers. He shot 1-over 71 to place in a tie for third place, which was two shots back of medalist George Qian of CMU. Qian shot 69, the only player under par.
Point Park put two players in the Top 10 with sophomore Gino DiPardo shooting a 75 to tie for eighth. Junior Max Kaminsky shot 78 to give the Pioneers three players in the 70s and tie for 15th.
Rafael Perez (82) and Jared Bender (83) also competed for Point Park's team. The Pioneers also had Steven Bender (81) and Nick Finoli (85) playing as individuals.
Point Park's next event is Oct. 10-11 at the River States Conference Fall Preview Tournament to be held at Lassing Pointe Golf Course in Union, Ky. The tournament is a preview for the RSC championship in the spring.
