Will you pursue the high calling to teach?
You could be the apple of a second grader's eye or make English more interesting for high school juniors.
It takes a special person to be an educator. You're committed to learning. You want to make a difference. And you hope to instill values in young lives. (It also helps to have a sense of humor and a little patience). Come and pursue one of the most important and respected career positions of all: teacher.
Pennsylvania is a leading exporter of teachers in the country. That means if you have a Pennsylvania certification, you'll be able to teach in most other states. So, are you called to teach? This is your chance to answer the call.
Into the Real World of Teaching
Our education department's Downtown Pittsburgh location brings "real" advantages. Our students are able to conduct observations at local schools within walking distance of campus. We also place student teachers in local schools, so transportation to and from those schools is convenient.
Local school administrators and teachers appreciate our Downtown location as well, as they are able to easily participate in our education program, whether visiting as guest lecturers, mock interviewers, or graduate school representatives.
