Assistance with Course Work
The Center for Student Success provides professional and peer tutors for students who seek tutoring in undergraduate course work. In addition, students may receive assistance with effective study strategies, such as organizing for study, exam preparation, and lecture note taking and annotation.
CSS makes a reasonable effort to meet the tutoring needs of students in a wide variety of undergraduate courses. However, we may not be able to honor every request due to limited student and/or tutor availability or inability to locate a qualified tutor.
If you would like to request a tutor, please complete the Tutor Request Form. For questions please contact the Center for Student Success at 412-392-8132 or firstname.lastname@example.org or go to the West Penn Building, fifth floor.
Peer tutors are a valuable part of Point Park's effort to provide quality services for students. The Center for Student Success actively seeks enthusiastic and qualified candidates to become peer tutors. Tutors are paid through General Work funds.
Prospective tutors must meet the following qualifications:
- Overall GPA of 3.0
- GPA of 3.0 in the area tutored
- Obtain a recommendation from a faculty member in the area the applicant wishes to tutor
For more information about becoming a tutor, contact Natacia Owens, student success coordinator for tutoring services, at 412-392-8132 or email@example.com, or go to the CSS offices on the fifth floor of the West Penn Building.
