Financial Clearance

Students are responsible for all financial obligations with the University. The final step in the registration process is securing financial clearance from the Office of Student Accounts. Options available to obtain financial clearance include the following:

If you wish to use federal, state or University grants and loans, outside scholarships or personal loans, all documentation must be cleared by the Office of Financial Aid prior to the Office of Student Accounts providing account clearance. Please note that outside scholarships or personal loans cannot be included as financial aid unless official documentation is received by the Office of Financial Aid. Documentation can include the following:

  • Master Promissory Note signed for all student loans
  • Federal and Pennsylvania state grant notice of eligibility confirmed by the Office of Financial Aid
  • Official letter(s) from outside scholarship donors

Work-study and Student Apprenticeships

Funds earned from either program cannot be applied towards a financial clearance.  Students earn funds from these programs much like earnings from an off-campus job.

Delinquent Student Accounts

A business hold on a student account may be placed on individual student accounts if there is an outstanding balance on that account.  A hold on a student account prohibits students from registering for future semesters, from receiving official transcripts and/or receiving diplomas. Monthly late fees are also assessed on outstanding balances owed to the University.
